Garrick Higgo became the quickest South African to three European Tour victories when he won the Canary Islands Championship in Tenerife on Sunday.
The 21-year-old completed a third-straight Tour triumph by a South African in Spain in what was also his second win in three weeks on the Spanish Swing.
Higgo capped off another spectacular performance with a final-round 64 at the Golf Costa Adeje to seal a six-shot victory with a winning score of 27 under par.
The South African capitalised on his overnight lead and pulled away fairly early on after a stunning hole-in-one on the par-3, 7th hole.
Higgo finished his round with a par on the final hole, while he sank seven birdies across his round with two bogeys along the way.
Australia’s Maverick Antcliff finished as runner up with Finland’s Tapio Pulkkanen securing third place on Sunday.
Last week’s winner Dean Burmester enjoyed another solid week in Tenerife and concluded the action in a share for fourth spot, eight shots behind Higgo.
