Louis Oosthuizen will compete at the Hero World Challenge this week in the Bahamas, where 16 of the world’s top 25 are in action.

Oosthuizen is making his debut in the limited-field event, confident after his ninth-place finish at the Nedbank Golf Challenge two weeks ago.

The 34-year-old closed out the 2016 PGA Tour season with tied-17th at the Travelers Championship, tied-18th at The Barclays, tied-eighth at the Deutsche Bank, and finally tied-17th at the BMW Championship.

The 2010 Open champ posted 11 top 25s in 17 starts on the PGA Tour last season, so his game is good enough to match the field playing in the Bahamas this week.

Defending champ Bubba Watson went 25 under par to beat Patrick Reed in 2015, and the year before Jordan Spieth set a tournament record of 26 under par.

Oosthuizen will need to come out firing in order to match the frenetic scoring required for success at Sherwood Country Club this week.

The big stage has never bothered ‘King Louis’ and his form is coming back, which makes for an exciting prospect in his Hero World Challenge debut.
