Rod Pampling won his third PGA Tour title this week at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open after shooting 65 on Sunday.

‘You know, you dream of it. It happened a couple of times, obviously a long time ago. But thankfully I can still remember those, and it’s exactly the same. It’s just an amazing feeling and it’s just what we work so hard for,’ he said.

The Australian was 20 under par for the week at TPC at Summerlin and two strokes clear of runner-up Brooks Koepka, who shot 62 in the first round.

Pampling stumbled into the stretch after bogeys at the 10th and 12th, but recovered with birdies from the 13th to the 15th, followed by a final birdie at the 18th.

‘You dream of those sorts of starts. And then to finish it was just another dream on top of the first round,’ he said.

His victory was built off a Thursday round of 60 that included seven birdies, two eagles, and no dropped shots.

Ernie Els carded 68 on Friday to make the weekend, but slowed down in the final two rounds and settled for a share of 65th place on three under par.
