Brooks Koepka banked $1,056,000 for finishing tied-second with Louis Oosthuizen at the 2021 PGA Championship, but the 31-year-old American’s performance in the aftermath may be remembered long after fans have forgotten he shot a 2-over-par 74 at Kiawah Island to finish at 4-under 284, two shots behind Phil Mickelson.
A post-round television interview with Golf Channel went viral on social media after Koepka’s interview was shared on Twitter.
In the clip, Koepka does nothing to hide his scorn for Bryson DeChambeau (who finished 38th at the tournament) as his fellow golfer walks past in the background of the shot. Koepka ignored the reporter’s question, rolling his eyes and cursing as DeChambeau passed by.
The two golfers had been rumoured to be feuding for some time, dating back to when DeChambeau was criticised by Koepka (among others) for slow play in 2019. DeChambeau reacted by confronting Koepka’s caddie:
Was standing on the putting green with Koepka’s caddie earlier when an irritated Bryson DeChambeau walked up & told him to tell his boss to make any comment about slow play “to my face”. Brooks arrived soon after, got the message & ambled over for a chat with the scientist.

On Wednesday, 50-year-old Mickelson – whose sixth major title made him the oldest major champion – was unveiled as the pro who will team up with legendary quarterback Tom Brady to battle DeChambeau and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in The Match charity golf tournament.
Koepka Tweeted his implicit sympathy for Rodgers, and DeChambeau replied with, “It’s nice to be living rent free in your head!”
Brady fanned the flames, roasting Rodgers and Bryson with a thread of memes:
Two old guys against the young bucks @PhilMickelson. @b_dechambeau better get used to laying up because we know @AaronRodgers12 isn’t going for it 🤣 https://t.co/f1DQsFn41U
