The Wyndham Championship returns to Greensboro, North Carolina where PGA TOUR players have their last chance to make moves and solidify their position going into the FedExCup Playoffs.
Sedgefield Country Club hosts 156 players this week with many looking to scramble their way to full status on tour. The final stop before the playoffs will see the top 125 secure their cards while those finishing 126-150 can count on conditional status at worst in 2019-20.
Players ranking 126-200 who aren’t fully exempt for another season qualify for the Korn Ferry Tour Finals.
South Africans Dylan Frittelli and Branden Grace are in the field but both do not have status to worry about. The former saw his FedExCup soar after his breakthrough win at the John Deere Classic while Grace is playing in a bid to improve his current ranking (89) as the field’s decrease towards the Tour Championship.
Ernie Els is the last South African in the field and starts with a FedExCup ranking of 182.
PGA TOUR rookie winners Matthew Wolff and Collin Morikawa are in the field which includes Paul Casey, Jordan Spieth, Webb Simpson, Patrick Reed and defending champion Brandt Snedeker.
Eyes will be on the likes of Alex Noren, Daniel Berger and Martin Kaymer who are in grave danger of finishing outside of the top 125.
