Harding is playing his way to Augusta

They may have come up a shot short, but South African duo Louis de Jager and Justin Harding will be pleased with the financial rewards of their week at the Magical Kenya Open.

The pair were consoled by their runner-up finish with a cheque worth R1 342 389 after final rounds of 69 and 66 respectively saw them in the group of three alongside Spain’s Adri Arnaus. They were unable to match rookie winner Guido Migliozzi’s tally at -16, though.

Harding’s season continues to go from strength to strength after he banked R4 214 352 thanks to his Oman Open win, while De Jager, who played his way on to the European Tour via Q-School, will be delighted with his efforts as he looks to keep his card.

The last two weeks have bolted Harding to an automatic qualifying berth for this year’s Presidents Cup, as well as into the world’s top 50; the latter enough to see him earn his first start at The Masters next month.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout, who finished second in Oman, was SA’s third-best this week and banked a cheque worth R365 099.
