Steyn City is excited to announce that golf professional Dylan Naidoo is joining The Club at Steyn City as its first-ever Touring Professional Ambassador.

Dylan has garnered attention from the global golfing community since a young age. In 2015, at just 16 years old, he became the youngest competitor ever in the Joburg Open.

His performance marked the beginning of a remarkable ascent: a year later, he secured the second spot in the South African Amateur Rankings, becoming the first amateur to win a Big Easy Sunshine Tour Event. Additionally, he clinched victory at the All-Africa Junior Championship in Tunisia.

In 2017, while competing in over 15 collegiate events at the University of Arkansas (where he also earned a place on the Dean’s List), he finished the year ranked fifteenth in the nation. Dylan turned professional in 2019, obtaining a Korn Ferry Tour card and conditional status on the Mackenzie Tour before winning the SunBet Challenge in 2022. The 25-year-old has returned to South Africa to compete on the Sunshine Tour.

Dylan’s ambassadorship with Steyn City coincided with the commencement of the Joburg Open last month. It’s a relationship that carries significance for both sides, comments Steven Louw, CEO of Steyn City Properties, which is sponsoring the player’s membership at the Club and its facilities, as well as a private residence at the luxury lifestyle estate. “The Club at Steyn City has been Dylan’s preferred practice facility for the last year – a testimony, we believe, to the excellence of our course.”

Comments Dylan Naidoo, “I’m very excited, humbled and grateful for the trust and confidence that the management of Steyn City have decided to place in me as a professional golfer.

Their support with a full membership in both the golf club and their state of the art gym as well as the provision of a high end apartment to live in, is very generous and will be invaluable to me as I take aim to reach new levels in the game of golf.

Now, I can literally roll out of bed and play and practice every day. The design and condition of the golf course is first class and the new practice facility will help me fine-tune my game for upcoming tournaments and seasons. Besides the golf, I’m an active person and interested in a wide range of sports. As such, the sport and lifestyle options here at Steyn City will be an added benefit as I look after my physical and mental well-being.

Louw adds that Dylan’s values align directly with those of Steyn City: “Just as Dylan is determined to be the very best, Steyn City Properties is committed to creating a residential lifestyle estate without comparison.”

Steyn City Properties is also pleased to support Dylan as an exemplar of achievement for all South Africans to aspire to. As a ‘local golfer’ from Johannesburg’s new north, where Steyn City is situated (he grew up in Fourways and attended Crawford College Lonehill), he serves as a role model for aspiring young golfers in the vicinity, showing them what can be accomplished through perseverance and hard work.

“We’re delighted to invest in the future of golf. We can’t wait to see Dylan go on to achieve even greater things – our relationship is a genuine source of pride and inspiration,” Louw concludes.
