Branden Grace and Dean Burmester joined JC Ritchie as the big South African winners from the past weekend on golf’s biggest stages.
Ritchie’s triumph on home soil had him surge up the rankings as well as move top of the Sunshine Tour money list [read that story HERE] but Grace and Burmester both ensured a profitable ending to their weeks in Phoenix and Saudi Arabia, respectively.
Grace ended in a share of ninth at the Waste Management Phoenix Open as he continues his solid post-South African Open win form. After the solid week he walked away with $170,768 for his efforts … which converts to R2,550,095.
His strong showing moved him five places up to 69th in the world rankings.
At the controversial Saudi International Graeme McDowell ended a lengthy drought, but it was Burmester who finished as the leading South African.
Rounds of 71-68-68-67 had Burmester sharing 11th place with Matthew Pavon to take home €56,533.58 (R935,048).
The result helped push the big-hitting South African up 14 places to 160th.
