Amy Yang moved three strokes clear of the field after carding 69 in the second round of the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia on Friday.

The South Korean got to 10 under par after two rounds and led Mi Jung Hur, Candie Kung and Anna Nordqvist going into the weekend.

Yang avoided bogeys everywhere except the 14th hole at TPC Kuala Lumpur and included an eagle two in her second round, which was affected by thunderstorms that rolled in.

She bounced back from the dropped shot with a birdie at the 16th to reach double figures going into the weekend.

’(The putt) was about 20 feet downhill, right to left. I just picked a spot and made a solid putt,’ she said. ‘Golf can be really easy like yesterday, but it can be also a little slow like today. So I’m just going to be patient, do my best. I’ve been practicing hard, so I’m just going to trust what I’ve been practicing.’

South Africa’s Lee-Anne Pace battled with the weather-affected round and slipped to a share of 45th place after carding 75 on Friday. She was joined by countrywoman Paula Reto, who shot 74.
