Bayern Munich and Austria star David Alaba has had his say on the Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo debate.
The 24-year-old left back has praised both superstars and has claimed that although Ronaldo has benefitted from his rigorous training and conditioning, Messi’s talent is otherworldly.
‘I like them both,’ Alaba said, reports AS. ‘Cristiano Ronaldo works very hard, day by day, hour by hour, for his success. Messi, with the ball, is not human.’
Messi and Ronaldo have dominated the Fifa Ballon d’Or, the gong awarded to the world’s best player, for almost a decade.
Messi currently leads his rival with five awards to Ronaldo’s three, but Ronaldo is the favourite to close that gap by claiming his fourth later this year.
Ronaldo won both the Champions League and Euro 2016 this year, while Messi picked up a the Copa del Rey and La Liga trophies before losing the Copa America final with Argentina.
