Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Spanish striker Lucas Perez from Deportivo La Coruna after meeting his buy-out clause of £17.1-million.
The 27-year-old will now undergo a medical and discuss personal terms before the move can be finalised, according to SkySports.
Deportivo La Coruna have also announced that Perez had been withdrawn from their squad to face Real Betis in LaLiga on Friday.
‘The striker Lucas Perez will not fly to Seville, with permission of the club,’ the club’s statement read.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made no secret of his desire to add to his striking options this season, but his attempts to sign Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette have failed.
Over the course of his career, Perez has featured in 177 appearances in all competitions and has scored 52 goals while assisting 38, playing for the likes of Rayo Vallecano, Karpaty Lviv, Dynamo Kyiv, AOK Thessaloniki, and Deportivo La Coruna.
