Arsenal welcomed Ludogorets to the Emirates on Wednesday and produced a superb display, thrashing the minnows by a six-goal margin.

Ludogorets got off to a good start in the tie as they looked to build some rhythm in possession of the ball. Arsenal were looking incisive from the onset, however, as Mesut Ozil and Hector Bellerin threatened with crosses.

Theo Walcott was then played in by Alexis Sanchez, who tried to return the ball back to the Chilean for a tap in only for his ball to go awry. Sanchez did get his goal in the 12th minute as he magnificently chipped the goalkeeper from long range.

At half-time the score remained 2-0 in favour of the London-based club.

The second period go off to the best possible start for the Gunners as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain made no mistake from inside the box having been played in by Kieran Gibbs from out wide.

10 minutes later Ozil added Arsenal’s fourth. Having excellently controlled a long ball, the German international sprinted clear before calmly slotting his finish.

Arsenal continued to cut through their opposition with consummate ease as Sanchez and Oxlade-Chamberlain threatened.

Ozil then netted his side’s fifth in the 83rd minute as he ran onto a fine Lucas Perez cross to finish from close range. Just four minutes later the German completed his hat-trick, smashing home a superb volley to seal a dominant 6-0 victory.
