Arsenal will make an improved offer for the Olympique Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette, according to reports.
Arsene Wenger is keen to strengthen his squad for the new season but saw a bid in the region of £30-million for the Frenchmen rejected by the French club.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas claimed he did not expect Arsenal to return with an improved offer for the 25-year-old, who previously attracted interest from West Ham earlier in the summer, reports SkySports.
The French Ligue 1 club valued the striker at £40-million, however, the club’s president has insisted that he does want to lose his star striker ahead of the new season.
On an international level, Lacazette has been capped 10 times by France and has spent his entire professional career at Lyon, scoring 92 goals and assisting a further 32 from 230 appearances for the club.
The Gunners have already acquired the services of three players ahead of the 2016-17 campaign, including forward Tasumo Akano, midfielder Granit Xhaka, and defender Rob Holding.
