Arsenal have turned down an approach from Juventus for their 27-year-old playmaker Alexis Sanchez.
According to the Daily Mail, the Chilean, who is currently recovering from an ankle injury, has attracted the interest of Serie A giants Juventus but his London club has rejected the Italians approach.
A number of clubs have been credited with an interest in the Gunners star but the club are intent on retaining his services.
Juve’s approach comes with increased speculation that Sanchez will opt against renewing his Emirates contract which has just two seasons left after the forward reportedly grew frustrated with life at the London club last season.
He reportedly walked out of the club after being substituted against Norwich last season while he also suggested some of his teammates lacked passion for the fight.
‘There are great players. I train with them daily and they have got the mentality and the desire to win but we lack hunger, the mentality that we are [already] winning 1-0 when we go out on to the pitch.’ said Sanchez at the time.
Sanchez arrived in the Premier League after a blockbuster move from Barcelona in 2014 which cost Arsenal £35-million. Sanchez has scored 42 goals in 93 appearances since joining Arsenal.
