Young Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio’s impressive debut has paved the way for his inclusion in the Los Blancos first team this season, according to manager Zinedine Zidane.
The 20-year-old opened the scoring for Los Blancos in their Uefa Super Cup clash against Sevilla with an incredible long-range effort.
Zidane revealed he was impressed by the star’s showing and has insisted Asensio will be part of Real’s squad for the upcoming season.
‘Asensio is here to stay and he had a very complete performance, not just because of the goal,’ Zidane told Marca.
‘My plan is for him to remain with the first team.’
Zidane outlined his plans for Asensio two weeks prior to the midfielder’s debut with the club and the youngster did not disappoint as Real came from behind to triumph in the Super Cup clash.
The starlet, who was farmed out to Espanyol on loan last season, managed four goals and an impressive 15 assists from his 37 appearances last term.
