Ivory Coast international Eric Bailly is relishing the chance to play for Manchester United following his move from Villarreal.

The 22-year-old signed a four-year contract with the option of a further two and becomes the first arrival of the Jose Mourinho era at Old Trafford.

The defender joined United in June in a deal set to be worth around £30-million and is subject to the defender securing a work permit. Bailly will meet his new teammates when the players return to the Aon Training Complex next week.

The former Espanyol spoke to MUTV about his desire to settle in Manchester and adapt to life in the Premier League.

‘I think it’s very important that I settle in quickly,’ Bailly explained.

‘I hope that with the coaching staff and the help of my team-mates that this process will be as quick as possible. It’s important to pick up the dynamic and the tempo of the football here as soon as the season starts. And as I say, hopefully with the help of everyone here I can do that quickly,’ he added.

Mourinho will work with the players at the Aon Training Complex for around two weeks before selecting a squad for their summer Tour to China.

The 22-year-old made 47 appearances for the Yellow Submarine, having joined the club in January 2015, while also featuring in all six of Ivory Coast 2015 Afcon matches en route to lifting the trophy.
