Real Madrid-bound midfielder Jude Bellingham looks set to miss England’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Malta and North Macedonia as he recovers from a hamstring injury.

Bellingham will not join Gareth Southgate’s team. Instead, he will spend time at England’s national football centre getting better from the injury that kept him from playing in Borussia Dortmund’s last game of the season.

In the 19-year-old’s absence, Dortmund tied 2-2 with Mainz, giving the Bundesliga title to Bayern Munich.

Bellingham was one of England’s best players at the World Cup last year. He recently agreed to join the Spanish giants in a huge deal that will go through as soon as he passes a medical.

Southgate’s 25-man group is missing Bellingham, but Brighton defender Lewis Dunk also pulled out on Sunday.

“Lewis Dunk has withdrawn from the England squad due to injury, while Jude Bellingham will also play no part in this month’s qualifiers,” an FA statement said.

On Sunday, the Three Lions team started to show up at St. George’s Park.

Declan Rice of West Ham and Jack Grealish, John Stones, Phil Foden, Kyle Walker, and Kalvin Phillips of Manchester City will be back in the next few days after doing well in Europe.

City won the treble by beating Inter Milan in the Champions League final on Saturday. On Wednesday, West Ham beat Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final to win their first major trophy in 43 years.

On June 16, England will play Malta in Ta’ Qali. On June 19, England will host North Macedonia at Old Trafford in Manchester.

In March, Italy and Ukraine both lost to Southgate’s team, but they won their first two Euro qualifying games.
