Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo is in the prime of his life after completing his move from Barcelona.

The Chilean goalkeeper joined City for a fee worth £17.1-million from Barcelona after signing a four-year deal with the club.

The 45-year-old manager says he is delighted to have signed a player with the leadership quality and experience of a player he has admire for years.

‘Claudio is a fantastic goalkeeper and an excellent addition to our squad,’ Guardiola said.

‘He has experience and great leadership qualities and is in the prime of his life. He is a goalkeeper I have admired for a number of years and I’m really happy he is now a City player.’

Over the course of his career, Bravo has scored one goal and kept 119 clean sheets from 312 appearances in all competitions playing for La Liga side’s Real Sociedad and Barcelona.

Bravo has managed to rack up a total of 106 appearances for his national team since making his debut in July 2011.

Manchester City will now return to the Premier League when they take on West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Kick-off has been set for 17:00.
