The Spanish giants fell to a disappointing defeat against the French Ligue 1 side, courtesy of a brace by Angel Di Maria and goals by both Julian Draxler and Edinson Cavani during their first leg of the round of 16 in the Champions League.
The 28-year-old admits that the French champions performed better on the day after conceding four goals, but he remains grounded and believes his side have to accept their defeat.
‘They were better than us. The score might be a bit exaggerated, but that’s football,’ Busquets told the Barcelona website.
The Spain international says his side will be hoping to redeem themselves when they welcome PSG to the Camp Nou for the second leg of their Last 16 tie on March 8.
‘We have nothing else to do, except correct our mistakes and go back to Camp Nou and try there,’ he added.
‘It’s going to be tough, but we’ll try.’
Meanwhile, Barca manager Luis Enrique echoed Busquets’ word by stating that Unai Emery’s side were superior on the day and he expects a tough second leg fixture.
‘There’s a simple explanation. Our opponents were superior, they won a majority of the duels, and they were effective,’ Enrique said.
‘The score reflects what happened in the game.
‘We’re a team that has shown time and again that we know how to come up big. It will be tough, but we’ll have a chance.’
Barcelona will be hoping to bounce back when they turn their attention to the Spanish La Liga when they play Leganes at the Camp Nou on Sunday.
Kick-off has been set for 21:45.
