Chelsea and Leicester City have agreed to a transfer fee of €35-million for France midfielder N’Golo Kante.
Kante, who was one of Leicester’s outstanding players of last season, has just finished international duty with France after capping his meteoric rise from Caen in Ligue 1 to the upper echelons of the Premier League.
Spanish daily AS reported that Real Madrid were interested in bringing Kante to La Liga but French website Le Parisien believes Kante will line up alongside Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas as part of Chelsea’s midfield under Antonio Conte.
The 25-year-old is now expected to sign a five-year contract with the Blues as Conte secures a deal for his priority signing.
Kante joined Leicester for just £5.6m from Caen last year.
