Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is considering making a move for Wolfsburg left back Ricardo Rodriguez.
The Blues are willing to pay up to £22-million for the Switzerland international as they look to strengthen their defensive options, according to Mirror.
Following the departure of Baba Rahman on loan to Bundesliga side Schalke, Conte only has Cesar Azpilicueta at left-back.
Chelsea have also enquired about Cologne full-back Jonas Hector, however, with Hector extending his contract, which would increase the price of any deal for the Cologne player.
The 23-year-old, whose current contract expires in 2019, has already told club chiefs he wants to leave Wolfsburg this summer.
Rodriguez has recently attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal, Roma, and Real Madrid but Chelsea have emerged as the one club willing to match Wolfsburg’s £22-million valuation of the left back.
The Swiss international has played over 150 matches for Wolfsburg, scoring 20 goals, since joining the club from FC Zurich in 2012.
