Chelsea are currently in advanced talks to with Fiorentina to capture the services of Spanish left back Marcos Alonso.
A deal is yet to be agreed but it is anticipated that a bid of £24-million is imminent from Antonio Conte’s side, according to SkySports.
The 25-year-old old has enjoyed two spells in England, spending three seasons at Bolton between 2010 and 2013 and a six-month loan with Sunderland in 2014.
Since then, the former Spain U19 has spent two full seasons with Fiorentina, making 75 appearances in all competitions, while helping the club to a fifth-placed finish in Serie A last season.
If a deal is completed, Alonso will become the Blues third major signing after securing the services of N’Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi.
Should the transfer go through, the Spanish defender will be available to make his Chelsea debut against Swansea at the Liberty Stadium on September 11.
Kick-off has been set for 17:00.
