Chelsea came from behind to secure a 3-1 victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The match got off to a bright start with both sides seeing a bit of possession of the ball in the opening exchanges.
Blues playmaker Eden Hazard came close to opening the scoring with his effort from 20-yards out in the 15th minute.
Pep Guardiola’s side had the ball in the back of the net in the 24th minute but Fernandinho goal was judged to have been offside.
However, the home side eventually took the lead on the stroke of half time halftime when Gary Cahill deflected the ball into his own net from a Jesus Navas’ cross.
City came close to doubling the lead 10 minutes into the second half when but Kevin De Bruyne could only manage to hit the crossbar from point-blank range.
However, the Blues levelled matters in the 60th minute when Cesc Fabregas picked out Diego Costa, who beat his marker before slotting the ball past City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo to make it 1-1..
The Blues took the lead for the first time in the match in the 69th minute when Willian latched onto a pass from Costa before guiding his effort past Bravo to make it 2-1.
However, Chelsea all but sealed the victory in stoppage time when Hazard countered City on the attack before calmly slotting the ball into the back of the net.
The match was not over as Sergio Aguero was sent off for dangerous challenge on David Luiz, while, Fernandinho was also sent off for shoving Fabregas in the dying seconds of the match.
The Blues held on to their 3-1 scoreline to walk away with all three points and stay at the summit of the Premier League table.
