Premier League heavyweights Manchester City breezed past Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday while Leicester City and Arsenal were also in action.

City got off to a lightening quick start as they look to make inroads early on, with Kevin de Bruyne firing off the first shot of the contest after just a minute.

Bournemouth took 10 minutes to muster their first attack of the match as they hit City on the break, but nothing came of the move.

City opened the scoring in the 15th minute as Bruyne fired home a low free kick following a needless foul from Arsenal loanee Jack Wilshere.

The Sky Blues added a second 10 minutes later as Kelechi Iheanacho tapped home following great work from Raheem Sterling.

Bournemouth had another chance on the break with 36-minutes played before Iheanacho set up a chance for Sterling, only for Artur Boruc to parry. The score remained 2-0 at the break of play.

City hit a third just a minute into the second period as an incisive attack saw Sterling pass the ball over the line after Iheanacho had squared it.

Sterling was at it again just after the hour mark as he sped past a host of opposition players before having his shot well saved by Boruc to deny a stunning goal. Ilkay Gundogan then hit his first goal for City a minute later to put City up by four after a great ball from De Bruyne.

There were to be no further goals in the tie as City closed out a dominant victory.

Elsewhere, Arsenal recorded a convincing 4-1 win over Hull City, while West Bromwich Albion cruised to a 4-2 win over West Ham United and champions Leicester City recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over Burnley.
