Manchester City left back Gael Clichy believes his side’s luck will change sooner rather than later after stretching their winless run to six matches in all competitions.
Pep Guardiola’s side is still winless after six games following their 1-0 defeat to rivals Manchester United in the fourth round of the League Cup.
The 31-year-old says he is not concerned with the Blues’ recent form in all competitions, but insists that his side will keep training hard to overturn their recent form.
‘We gave everything and at the moment, we are not getting what we deserve,’ Clichy told the Manchester City website.
‘Lately, the results and the points are not on board. We have to keep working and we’re sure we’re going to get there.’
Clichy says his side was not clinical enough in the final third and they were punished for that in the 54th minute when Juan Mata scored the decisive goal of the match.
‘They had one or two chances during the game – they scored one of them,’ he added.
‘After this, it is difficult. They are strong. We tried to play the way we want to play.
‘If we are a bit more clinical playing forward and more compact as a team, maybe we can do better.’
Manchester City will next take on West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns in the Premier League on Saturday.
Kick-off has been set for 16:00.
