Chelsea striker Diego Costa has been withdrawn from the Spanish national team taking on England in an international friendly at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old has picked up an injury and will also miss his nation’s World Cup qualifier against Macedonia on Saturday.

The Blues forward has been replaced by former Liverpool forward Iago Aspas for both matches.

Costa joined the squad in Madrid earlier this week for immediate medical tests and did not take part in training on Wednesday.
