Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho has become a transfer target for PSG, though the Ligue 1 champions are yet to make an approach.

The 23-year-old Brazilian has been arguably Liverpool’s most important player over the past few seasons, in large part due to his ability to make the difference for his side in big games.

The player, who signed a five year deal with the Anfield club last term, is settled in Liverpool, but is eager for the club to challenge for the Champions League, reports the Daily Mail.

Manager Jurgen Klopp, who has been pursuing Mario Gotze and Sadio Mane to bolster his side, is keen to lessen the burden of responsibility on his young star’s shoulders, and will certainly not be looking to sell a key asset to his side. An additional obstacle for the French champions is that the side would have to part ways with another of their foreign players before they could sign the Brazilian, as dictated by the non-EU player quota.

Coutinho was brought to Anfield by Brendan Rodgers back in 2013, when he made a £8.5-million switch from Inter Milan.

The player is currently preparing with Brazil for the Copa America in the United States.

The midfielder made 44 appearances for the Reds across all competitions this term, netting 12 times.
