Endrick scored an injury-time winner as Brazil defeated Mexico 3-2 in a warm-up friendly ahead of this month’s Copa America.

After goals from Gabriel Martinelli of Arsenal and Andreas Pereira of Fulham gave the South American powerhouses a 2-0 lead at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas, the Brazilians appeared to be coasting to victory.

However, after Julian Quinones grabbed a goal back in the 73rd minute, Mexico pulled off an unexpected late comeback.

In the third minute of added time, Guillermo Martinez appeared to have given Mexico a point when he headed in a rebound off a corner to level the score 2-2.

However, Brazil regained the advantage before Mexico could even regroup.

On the left, Vinicius Jr lofted an appealing cross into the penalty box, and Endrick, his new Real Madrid teammate, perfectly timed his jump to tip in a header past Julio Gonzalez, the custodian for Mexico, to make it 3-2.

The triumph prolonged Brazil’s winning streak under new manager Dorival Junior, who led the team to a 1-0 victory over England at Wembley in March and a 3-3 draw with Spain.

On Wednesday, Brazil will play their final friendly match before beginning their Copa America campaign against Costa Rica on June 24 in Orlando.
