Manchester City midfielder Fernando believes December and January will be defining months of the Premier league season for his side.

Pep Guardiola’s side now face a run of four games in 11 days, starting with a trip to Hull City before playing West Ham United in the FA Cup third round.

The Brazilian believes that his side’s success this season will all depends on the outcome of results during the December and January list of fixtures.

‘We know that our calendar is very busy at the end of the year, but it is the most important period of the season,’ Fernando told the Manchester City website.

‘December and January are vital. We have to keep ourselves near the top of the table to be ready when it comes close to the end of the season.’

Manchester City will take on Hull City in the next Premier League encounter on December 26.

The match at the KC Stadium kicks off at 19:15.
