Euro 2016 Golden Boot winner Antoine Griezmann opted to renew his Atletico Madrid deal despite interest from PSG, according to his agent.
The French forward found the net six times in seven appearances at Euro 2016 to lead France to the final where they succumbed to an extra-time finish from Eder.
The player’s agent Olhats confirmed that Griezmann had several offers before committing to the Champions League runners-up.
‘There were talks with [PSG sporting director] Olivier Letang,’ Griezmann’s advisor Eric Olhats told RMC .
‘Paris Saint-Germain were interested in signing him. We listened to what they had to say because PSG are a club with an interesting project.
‘We eventually opted for continuity with Atletico after those talks and weighing up the various offers. But you never know what happens in the future.’
The 25-year-old forward, who was named UEFA’s Player of the Tournament, attracted interest from Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester United as well as Atletico’s La Liga rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid but opted to remain under Diego Simeone’s mentorship.
