Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is interested in trying to lure Austrian left back David Alaba away from Bundesliga side Bayern Munich.
The Austrian international is reportedly Guardiola’s first-choice transfer target to replace Gael Clichy and Aleksandar Kolarov at left back.
The Premier League side are reportedly willing to pay £40-million for Alaba, with a move more likely to happen next summer rather than January.
Should he move to the Etihad Stadium, City are set to double his £75,000-a-week wage, which he currently makes at Bayern.
The 24-year-old has already featured 10 times for the Bundesliga champions in all competitions this season.
