Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has hailed Yaya Toure’s match-winning performance against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

The 33-year-old scored twice in his first appearance in the Premier league.

Guardiola praised the Ivorian’s performance, saying that he can play a key role in helping his side win silverware this season.

‘His weight is perfect now and there is no doubts about his quality,’ Guardiola told the Manchester City website.

‘His personality and his quality are there to see – he can play many positions. I’m so happy for him and his family. We now have one more man that can help us achieve our targets this season.

‘The last two months he was amazing in the training sessions. His behaviour was absolutely perfect. His teammates love him. He’s another guy who will help us with the rotation in the team.’

Manchester City next take on Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The match at Stadion im Borussia Park kicks off at 21:45.
