Gunners target further additions

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed the side will look to make an additional two buys this summer in a bid to strengthen the squad.

The Gunners sealed a deal for defensive midfielder Granit Xhaka prior to Euro 2016, but the manager has warned that too many reinforcements could upset the balance of his side, reports Goal.

As such, Wenger claims just two more additions should prove sufficient.

The Gunners are also believed to have triggered the £20-million buy-out clause of Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy, but the 29-year-old striker looks poised to remain with the Foxes, with whom he helped win a remarkable Premier League title this past season.

Wenger has conceded he has no plans for an elaborate overhaul of his side in the near future. Meanwhile, Arsenal’s wait for a league triumph continues.

The London side last took the title under Wenger’s guidance 12 years ago.
