Newcastle United have completed the signing of defender Grant Hanley from Blackburn Rovers for a fee of £5.5-million.
The 24-year-old was on Tyneside for a medical, having sat out a third Rovers pre-season game in succession on Tuesday and signs a five-year deal, reports the Newcastle United website
The Magpies had recently made two of £3.5-million and £4.5-million for the Scottish international after losing both Fabricio Coloccini and Steven Taylor.
Hanley has played 222 matches playing for the likes of Glasgow Rangers U17, Blackburn U18 and Blackburn including 10 goals and six assists for the club in all competitions.
