Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola revealed that he will rotate the squad for their Champions League clash against Steaua Bucharest at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.
The Blues head into their Champions League match with an advantage following their 5-0 victory over Steaua in the first leg at Stadionul National.
Guardiola admits a strong first-leg advantage provides the perfect chance to make changes but explained Vincent Kompany, Ilkay Gundogan, and Bacary Sagna are not yet in contention, reports the Manchester City website.
‘In terms of long-term injuries, Vincent Kompany and Ilkay Gundogan have little problems,’ Guardiola said.
‘We have ten days to work with them and improve their physical conditions.
‘Hopefully, when we come back from the international break, they will be a full part of our training sessions.
Meanwhile, the 45-year-old manager revealed that Hart and Toure stand a good chance of playing against Steaua and he insists that he will rotate his squad for the second leg clash.
‘Joe Hart and Yaya Toure have a chance to play [against Steaua],’ he added.
‘We had 28 players in the training session. It’s difficult for me to leave players who deserve to play out. We’ve played tough games in the last week. I will make some rotations with the players.’
Manchester City will now take on Steaua Bucharest at the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Kick-off has been set for 20:45.
