Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera plans to frame his Spain shirt after his full international debut as a substitute against England at Wembley Stadium.
The 27-year-old has already represented the Spanish national team at every age-group level before his senior debut on Tuesday, when he was substituted for Thiago Alcantara.
Herrera is grateful to have represented Spain and feels honoured to have made his debut at such a famous stadium.
‘Wembley is the best stage for a debut,’ Herrera told the Manchester United website.
‘It was so exciting and an honour to represent my country. I will have to frame the shirt.’
The United midfielder believes his side showed the ability and character to fight back to earn a 2-2 draw with the Three Lions.
‘We will take pride from this performance and fightback. That showed our footballing ability and character. We finished the game very strongly and whilst it was important to beat Macedonia, tonight we showed our fighting spirit.
‘Another team would have surrendered, but we did not give up and that shows our quality as a team, it shows the togetherness of our group.’
Manchester United next take on Arsenal, in what is expected to be an entertaining battle in the Premier League on Saturday.
The match at Old Trafford kicks off at 14:30.
