German midfielder Leon Goretzka struck twice in the first eight minutes, before Timo Werner and Amin Younis added two more in the second half.

However, Mexico did manage to net a consolation goal in the 89th minute when Marcio Fabian unleashed a viciously swerving drive from 35 metres out to find the net.

Joachim Low’s side have now booked their place in the Confederation Cup finals, where they will go head-head-to-head with Chile for the trophy at the Zenit Arena on 2 July, with kick-off set for 20:00.
