Borussia Dortmund’s star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had admitted he dreams of playing for Real Madrid.
The Gabonese, who netted 39 times as Dortmund finished runners-up in the Bundesliga last term, admitted as much when revealed he had promised his grandfather he would one day turn out for the side.
Now, the player has reiterated that wish.
‘This year, no,’ the forward told ZDF when asked about the prospect of a move.
‘But the only club I would leave Dortmund for are Real Madrid. If they don’t come calling, I don’t leave.’
The player openly admitted his chief target in his career is play for the Los Blancos.
‘My grandfather, the dad of my mum, always wished that I would play in Spain. Two years ago, when he died, I promised him that someday I will play for Real – and I work hard to reach that goal.
‘Real Madrid is my main goal but at the moment I like it in Dortmund. If there is a chance to go to Madrid, I will immediately say yes – but at the moment there is no contact,’ he concluded.
