Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Erick Lamela insists he is excited and ready for pre-season after returning to the club from international duty with Argentina.
The 24-yea-old will now return to the Training Centre in midweek to start preparations for pre-season with Spurs.
The midfielder capped off a fine 2015-16 campaign by helping Argentina reach the Copa America final in June, playing in every game including their eventual penalty shootout defeat to Chile, reports the Tottenham Hotspurs website.
Lamela insists that he is ready to give Spurs his all in a bid to help his side have another memorable season.
‘I am happy to be here again, happy to see my team-mates and I am ready to work,’ Lamela said.
‘I really like to work hard and this team likes to do the same.
‘In the beginning it’s a little bit hard because I stopped for the holidays but it’s normal. I think in one week I will be ready but for now, I will keep working step by step.
‘We all worked so hard last season and this season we want to be ready again,’ he added.
Following the arrival of midfielder Victor Wanyama and striker Vincent Janssen, the Argentine was quick to welcome them upon his return to the club.
‘Yes, I’ve seen them and I said “welcome to the Club”,’ he said.
‘They are ready to work, they are motivated to be here and I wish them all the best.
‘I think they will be very important because we have a very good team and with them we will be better. I will help them in everything if they need me.’
