Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic says he is confident his side will be able to climb the Premier League table over the festive season.
The Red Devils claimed a 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur with Henrikh Mkhitaryan scoring his first Premier League, which ultimately proved to be the difference in the match.
The 35-year-old has heaped praise on his side after they picked up a positive result and also close the gap on fifth-placed Spurs to three points.
‘It was very important because in the latest games we haven’t got the outcome we wanted, especially after good performances,’ Ibrahimovic told the Manchester United website.
‘Like I said before, the positive thing is we didn’t lose from the games where we did good. Today, we won against a top team and they’re just ahead of us.
‘We were confident, with good spirit, we believe in what we are doing and the guys have done a fantastic job, working very hard and keeping their heads up.’
Manchester United will now take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Wednesday.
The match at Selhurst Park kicks off at 22:00.
