Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has described new signing Vincent Janssen as a ‘perfect fit’ for Spurs.
The 22-year-old signed a four-year deal with Spurs from AZ Alkmaar and was the top goalscoring in the Eredivisie last season with 27 goals.
His performances earned a call-up to the senior Dutch squad in March and he scored on his first start against England at Wembley, reports the Tottenham Hotspur website.
The 44-year-old manager believes the quality Janssen possesses fits perfectly into Spurs style of play.
‘Vincent is still very young and his potential is massive to develop,’ said Pochettino.
‘He has a profile that fits perfectly for us.
‘He has quality in the box and he’s a striker that likes to fight and work for the team. That is perfect for us.’
The Argentinian manager insists that his new signing will have over enough time to adapt to life at Spurs and the Premier League.
‘We are very happy and excited that he has joined us. His human profile is perfect for the team, we always care about that. In general, he’s a player that fits the team,’ he added.
‘We’re all excited. It’s early in pre-season, just the second week and he will have time to adapt. We wish all the best for him.’
