Manchester United defender Phil Jones says his teammates have to believe the goals will come if they continue to create chances ahead of their EFL Cup clash on Wednesday.
Despite the Reds dominating the majority of their Premier League match against the Hammers at Old Trafford, Jose Mourinho’s side could not convert their chances in the final third and drew 1-1.
Jones expects their quarter-final clash with the same side to be a different ball game, and says his side need to keep creating scoring opportunities.
‘We just need to stick together, keep training well and keep creating the chances, and we will get the goals,’ the 24-year-old Jones told the Manchester United website.
‘We need to go again. Wednesday night is another important game and we want to win. I think it will be a completely different game to this one, but we need to prepare right as it comes around quickly.’
Manchester United against West Ham United kicks off at 22:00.
