Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius will retain his place in the starting line-up when they take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday.
The German shot-stopper has been between the posts for the past two matches – straightforward wins over Derby County and Hull City last week, reports the Liverpool website.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Karius will start against the Swans ahead of Belgium goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
‘He can play against Swansea again, I already spoke to the goalkeepers, they know it,’ Klopp said.
‘We had a game at Derby, what can I do? He did not have 500 balls, just two or three balls. Against Hull, I’m not sure, not too many balls.
The German manager says he cannot promise a starting position to any goalkeeper as he makes the decisions days before the match.
‘Simon is one of the best professionals we have. Like I said a few times, before the game, there is only the decision. After the game if someone wants to talk about it we can talk about it, but before the game nothing else than the game,’ he added.
‘If he wants to talk we can talk, there’s no problem, but it will not be a problem because I know him. We cannot promise line-up positions. We can only say we made decisions, use them.’
Liverpool against Swansea City kicks off at 13:30.
