Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has distanced himself from talk that his Liverpool side are ready to challenge for the 2016-17 Premier League crown.

The Reds have been impressive in the top flight this season, particular going forward. Though an impressive victory over Arsenal was followed by a stunning loss at the hands of Burnley, Liverpool bounced back with a hard-fought win over Chelsea before dismantling Hull City 5-1 on the weekend.

The side now sits level with Arsenal in fourth on the log, with many bookies labelling the side as the second favourites for the league title behind Manchester City. Klopp, however, has cautioned fans over getting carried away with the side’s recent good form.

‘I don’t understand the numbers,’ Klopp admitted when asked about the bookmakers on Sky Sports Monday Night Football. 

‘I know where I come from, you keep your money, you don’t do something like this! ‘It is not important for me but it is better to have an optimistic mood around.At this moment, Liverpool feels good.’

Klopp admitted he has been impressed by his side’s performances in recent weeks but insists it is very early in the season for bold predictions.

‘It’s nice to see [the table] but the one problem is the number, it is six games now so it’s at an early stage which is the only problem. I’m happy about this but I know there is a long way to go,’ he concluded.

Liverpool are next in action when they face Swansea on October 1.
