Leicester City have lodged an appeal with the Football Association against the dismissal of Jamie Vardy during their clash against Stoke City on Saturday. 

The 29-year-old striker was shown a straight red card by referee Craig Pawson in the 28th minute during the foxes 2-2 draw against the Potters for a two-footed tackle on Mame Diouf.

The Club has subsequently made its case for an instance of wrongful dismissal and expects to hear the outcome of the appeal in the coming days, according to the Leicester City website.

Leicester City will now welcome Everton to the King Power Stadium when the two side’s meet in the Premier League on December 26.

Kick-off has been set for 17:00.
