Liverpool have agreed a deal in the region of £25-million with for midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum from Newcastle United.
The 25-year-old will travel to Anfield on Thursday for a medical which is expected to last two days.
The Reds have offered Wijnaldum a five-year deal with Wijnaldum making his last appearance for Newcastle in their 2-2 draw with Doncaster Rovers on Wednesday, according to SkySports.
The midfielder joined Newcastle in a £14.5-million deal from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven last season but was unable to prevent their relegation from the Premier League, although Wijnaldum was the Magpies leading scorer last season with 11 goals.
Everton had also been interested in Wijnaldum with new manager Ronald Koeman a big admirer of the player, however, a move to Goodison Park has not materialised.
On an international stage, Wijnaldum has racked up 30 international caps for the Netherlands.
Liverpool could be in the market for a new midfield after accepting a £13-million bid for Joe Allen from Stoke City.
