Liverpool have rejected a £23-million bid from Crystal Palace for Belgium striker Christian Benteke.
Alan Pardew’s side offered to pay £23-million up front, with an additional £7-million in add-ons, taking the total to £30-million, according to SkySports.
This was the second bid Liverpool have rejected from Palace for the striker, having turned previously turned down a bid of £25-million.
Benteke joined Liverpool last season, signing from Aston Villa for £32.5-million, however, his future has been in doubt since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds are keen to recoup their £32.5-million they paid for the striker and will not accept anything less than that.
Benteke is likely to find first-team opportunities limited this season following the arrival of forward Sadio Mane from Southampton.
Palace manager Alan Pardew is keen to bolster squad after releasing Emmanuel Adebayor and Marouane Chamakh, while allowing Dwight Gayle and Yannick Bolasie to join Newcastle and Everton respectively.
