Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren says he feels his side’s performance against Manchester United merited three points following their 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Jurgen Klopp’s side were denied a victory at Old Trafford after Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s scored a late header to cancelled out James Milner’s first-half penalty.
The 27-year-old admits that it was a tough match but he believes his side deserved more than just a point against Jose Mourinho’s side on Sunday.
‘It was really tough to be honest, especially second half,’ Lovren said.
‘It was proper high-intensity football today, with a lot of chances from their side and from ours even more. We could score more I would say, we deserved more, but at the end it’s a good point here.
‘It’s always tough to play here, to take some points here, so altogether it’s OK.’
Liverpool will next welcome Swansea City to Anfield when the two side’s meet in the Premier League on Saturday.
Kick-off has been set for 14:30.
