Riyad Mahrez was on target for Leicester City following their shock 2-1 defeat against newly promoted side Hull City at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday.
The Foxes suffered their first defeat against the Tigers in the opening match of the Premier League title defence, however, the Leicester wing proved his worth after scoring the equalising goal on the stroke of half-time, levelling the score at 1-1, before Robert Snodgrass handed Hull the lead in the 57th minute.
The 25-year-old was brilliant in attack for the Foxes, taking five shots at goal, with two on target. Mahrez had four of his attempts from inside the Hull penalty area while having one coming from outside.
According to SASoccermag’s Opta-powered match stats, Riyad Mahrez managed to complete 73 touches on the ball while winning six out of 15 duels after spending 90 minutes on the field.
The Algerian international won one of out of one tackle in defence, winning three fouls and conceding one during his side’s opening defeat.
The former Le Havre wing man completed 35 out of 48 passes, with 39.6% coming from the left, 31.3% coming from directly down the centre and 18.8% coming from the right, creating one chance.
Although Hull City won the match, Leicester City controlled the match and had the best possession (50.2%), while the Tigers could only manage 49.8% of the possession.
The Foxes had more shots on goal than Hull, producing 18 chances at goal compared to 14 efforts respectively.
The Premier League champions will now continue their title defence in search of their first victory when they host Arsenal at the King Power Stadium on August 20.
