Leicester City continued their difficult start to the season with a draw against visitors Arsenal as star wing Riyad Mahrez showed glimpses of brilliance.
The Algerian delighted the crowd at the King Power Stadium with his trickery and unpredictability but ultimately proved unable to inspire his side to victory. The Gunners, however, were lucky to escape as the Foxes had two strong penalty appeals turned down.
According to SASoccermag’s Opta-powered match stats, Mahrez made 74 touches in his full 90 minutes on the pitch as he often looked the most likely player on the field to make something happen. The wing almost helped turn over possession for his side as he made three tackles and four interceptions.
Though the 25-year-old managed just two shots in the match, his direct running and great skills almost saw him carve open the Gunners on several occasions. In all, the player completed 32 of his 41 attempted passes.
With two matches payed Leicester have just one point to their name in the Premier League this season.
